Mission: The mission of New Hanover High School is to continue its tradition of providing the best learning opportunities for all students, preparing them to be productive and contributing citizens and leaders of a global society.

General Highlights: New Hanover High School offers comprehensive study in language arts, foreign languages, mathematics, social studies, and science. Electives are offered in industrial arts, technology education, business and office education, home economics, ROTC, performing arts (drama, instrumental, and vocal music), visual art, and healthful living.

New Hanover High School is renowned for creative programming. An interagency team from a wide variety of community agencies meets with school personnel to coordinate services for students coping with educational, physical, or social needs. The Cisco Networking Academy trains students to be certified networking technicians when they graduate. The Lyceum program, an inter-disciplinary approach to teaching students, includes almost 200 junior and senior students.
