(Click here for version in Spanish) A standardized dress code will be followed by all New Hanover High School students beginning with the 2009-2010 school year. Reasonable accommodations on the basis of a student’s religious beliefs or medical conditions can be made. The principal can exempt a student from complying with part or all of this policy when compliance would impose a substantial burden due to a medical condition or the exercise of a sincerely held religious belief. The principal may request from the parent or guardian a written statement explaining the medical condition or the religious belief and how it is affected by the standardized dress code. The principal may also make reasonable accommodations for students to comply with the standardized dress code based on financial hardship or for new students enrolling in the school from outside the New Hanover County Schools. Reasonable modifications and/or exceptions may be made inorder tomeet curriculum or safety requirements for certain high school courses. Pants, Skirts, Shorts, Jumpers, Dresses, Skorts, and Capris.

_____________________________________________________________________________ Effective June 29, 2009, the NCAA Eligibility Center will be unveiling a new student-athlete Web site and registration process for college-bound student-athletes planning to enroll in fall 2010 and later. The new Web address is www.NCAAstudent.org. The Eligibility Center feels that this new environment will aid you in easily accessing the vital information needed to assist your student-athletes and parents with the registration and academic and amateurism certification process. The existing Web site will continue to operate for college-bound student-athletes needing to register and enroll fall 2009. It will also continue to provide an academic and amateur certification status for fall 2009 and winter/spring 2010 enrollees. As members of the high school community, you will be able to access your information from the “For High Schools” link. The process of submitting your school's core courses online will remain the same. Should you have any questions concerning the registration of your student-athletes or locating Eligibility Center information, please refer to the high school resource page, which can be accessed by clicking on "For High Schools" and then logging in as a high school administrator. Have a wonderful summer! Have Questions? Call Us! If you have any questions, the Eligibility Center has a toll-free line exclusively for high school administrators. The phone number is 877/622-2321.
