“Getting Involved, Making a Difference!”
School involvement is still important …even in high school.
Please join me and the PTSA in making this year a
HUGE SUCCESS at NHHS!
How can I get involved and make a difference?
1. Make the decision and join NHHS PTSA:
We encourage you and your student to join the PTSA. Your membership dues and/or donation help fund many programs throughout the school year to enhance the learning experience of your child. NHHS PTSA supports programs like Reflections, Student Involvement & Recognition, Campus Beautification, Staff Appreciation, Teacher Mini-grants, and much more. Complete a NHHS PTSA membership form. You can return your form and payment to the school by: mailing them to the school, dropping them off in the main office or your child can return them to their homeroom teacher.
2. Choose to Volunteer:
The PTSA offers a variety of ways to volunteer at New Hanover. PTSA involvement is a great way to meet the staff, faculty, and parents. Parental involvement increases your student’s success and keeps you up to date with important information. Also, student volunteerism builds character, promotes personal growth, and looks great on college applications. Complete the “NHHS Needs You” form in your child’s homeroom packet. You can mail it to the school, drop it off in the main office or your child can return them to their homeroom teacher.
3. Don’t be a victim of what your teenager may “forget” to tell you!
Sign up for THE WEEKLY WILDCAT! Join the NHHS PTSA’s secure group email list at members@nhhsptsa.org or put your email address on the PTSA membership form. It includes news and reminders about student clubs and organizations, Arts education, PTSA events, sports, guidance from NHHS Counselors, student opportunities, calendar updates and important deadlines. STAY CONNECTED!
3. Support our Community Fund-Raising Partners.
Harris Teeter, Target, Food Lion, Office Depot and GoodSearch.com offer programs that give money back to NHHS PTSA for your participation. Make sure you put your VIC card and MVP card number on the membership form. I will re-link for you, or you can re-link yourself at Harris Teeter.com or Food Lion.com. Make sure you click on New Hanover High School PTSA. Also, FREE and it PAYS: www.goodsearch.com. Don’t Google, instead use this search engine. Every time you use Goodsearch.com, they give money back to NHHS PTSA.
Reminder: we receive support from Harris Teeter when you buy their store brand items only.
4. Check out the NHHS website.
Go towww.nhcs.k12.nc.us/nhhsfor other important information.
5. Attend Open House and PTSA general meetings.
This is another great way to meet your child’s teachers and to know what‘s happening at NHHS.
