Ashley High School Navy JROTC Cadets Participate In State, National, and Naval Programs
By: Cadet Jessica Romero

Several Cadets from Ashley High School’s Navy Junior Reserve Officer Training Corps (JROTC) unit recently completed valuable leadership and science, technology, engineering and math (STEM) opportunities in a variety of highly selective national, state, and Navy programs.

Cadets Cassidi Lynch, Jamie-Lee Potts, and Kody Giles all attended the Navy JROTC Area Six Leadership Academy at the Citadel in Charleston, South Carolina (SC). Cadets Andro Keck and Ryan Dixon attended the Area Six Sail Academy in Moncks Corner, SC. Cadets Joshua Synakowski and Christopher Bennett attended Tar Heel Boys’ State and Cadet Jessica Romero attended Tar Heel Girls’ State, both held at Catawba College in Salisbury, North Carolina (NC). Cadets Jessica Bradley and Katie McFoy attended the North Carolina Student Trooper Program in Raleigh, NC, and Cadet Joshua Synakowski attended the National Flight Academy in Pensacola, Florida.

The Ashley High School’s Navy JROTC Cadets would like to thank the Navy JROTC Program, American Legion Post 545, and the Ashley NJROTC Booster Club for their generous sponsorship and support of these programs. All of these Cadets are now busy applying their newly acquired leadership and STEM skills to benefit their Navy JROTC company, school, and community.
