New Hanover County Schools Presents the 29th Annual Best Foot Forward

New Hanover County Schools will present the 29th annual Best Foot Forward show on Saturday, March 10th, 2018, at 2:00 p.m. and 6:00 p.m. at the Wilson Center, located on the campus of Cape Fear Community College.

Best Foot Forward will feature the brightest and most talented students from twelve schools showcasing New Hanover County Schools’ arts education curriculum through music, dance, visual art, and drama. Jon Evans of WECT will serve as the host for the show.

This year's participating schools include:

Alderman Elementary School - ”Best Day of My Life”
Ashley High School- ”With Honor-A tribute to Sergeant Eugene Ashley”
Bellamy Elementary School- ”The Peanuts”
Blair Elementary School- ”Rock and Roll All Night”
Codington Elementary School- “Fitness Drumming”
College Park Elementary School- ”When I Grow Up”
Hoggard High School- ”Famous Works of Literature Summarized in One Sentence”
Laney High School Chorus- ”Africa”
Laney High School Dance- ”I Am”
New Hanover High School- ”You’re the One That I Want”
Trask Middle School- “Get Back Up Again”
D.C. Virgo Preparatory Academy- “Slam Jam”
Winter Park Elementary School- ”Glorious”

 
General admission tickets for the show are $10 each and are available for purchase through the Wilson Center Box Office both online and by walk-up or phone (910-362-7999) beginning February 2, 2018. Free parking will be provided in the Hanover Parking Deck adjacent to the Wilson Center. Doors will open one hour prior to the performance.

A visual arts exhibit, highlighting works from students in all grade levels, will be displayed in the lobby of the Wilson Center. Guests will be entertained by the Murray Middle School Jazz Band, under the direction of David Tyson, beginning at 1:30 p.m. and 5:30 p.m.

Jacki Booth, Arts Education Supervisor, will serve as Producer and Artistic Director for the program, with Tara Noland acting as Technical Director. DVDs of the show can be pre-ordered the night of the event and will be available through the K-12 Payment Center.
