Eight NHCS Students Selected for All-State Band

Eight students from New Hanover County Schools have earned the honor of performing with the 2017 North Carolina All-State Honors Bands.

Students from across the state recently traveled to Central Davidson High School in Lexington, NC to audition for seats in the North Carolina All-State Honor Bands. Members were selected based on their audition and placement in one of the six District Honors Band Clinics held in February.

The All-State Bands are comprised of three groups; Middle School, High School (9th/10th grades) and Senior High School (11th/12th grades). Seating is determined by an audition consisting of three parts- major scales, a prepared solo determined by the State Association, and instrument specific sight-reading. The Honors Band Clinic and Concert for these groups will be May 5-7, 2017, at the University of North Carolina Greensboro.
