New Hanover County Schools Presents 24th Annual Best Foot Forward

New Hanover County Schools presents the 24th annual BEST FOOT FORWARD Performance on Friday, March 15, 2013, at 7:30 p.m., in New Hanover High School’s Brogden Hall. Over 600 of New Hanover County’s brightest and most talented students will showcase the arts curriculum through dance, drama and music. Craig Thomas and Sheila Brothers of Sunny 104.5 FM will host the show for the first time.

Best Foot Forward features performances integrating special effects and uplifting music from pre-kindergarten, elementary, middle and high schools. This year's participating schools include:

  • College Park Elementary
  • Rachel Freeman School of Engineering
  • Hoggard High School
  • Holly Tree Elementary
  • Johnson Pre-K Center
  • Lake Forest Academy
  • Laney High School
  • Murray Middle School
  • New Hanover High School
  • Noble Middle School
  • Snipes Academy of Arts & Design
  • Sunset Park Elementary
  • Trask Middle School
  • Williams Elementary School
  • Wilmington Early College High School
  • Winter Park Elementary
  • Wrightsboro Elementary

A visual arts exhibit, highlighting works from students in all grade levels, will be displayed in the lobby of Brogden Hall. Guests will be entertained by the All-County High School Orchestra beginning at 7:00 p.m., under the direction of Roy Robuck, Orchestra Director at Laney and Trask.

Producers are Georgeann Haas, Arts Education Supervisor and Valita Quattlebaum, Chief Communications Officer. Artistic Director is Johannes Bron, and Technical Directors are Benjamin Horrell and Sheila Bron.

General admission tickets for the show are $10 each and are available for purchase through all participating schools and the NHCS Administration Building, located at 6410 Carolina Beach Road. DVDs of the show can be pre-ordered the night of the performance or through the Public Relations Department.
