Snipes Academy Students Perform Special Tribute on March 7th

Snipes Academy of Arts & Design fourth and fifth grade students will pay tribute to famous African Americans on Friday, March 7, 2014 at 1:45 p.m. in the school auditorium. Enhancement teachers, fourth and fifth grade teachers, and the graphic design teacher, have put together a comprehensive program depicting students' heritage. The “Black National Anthem” will be sung and students will dance the “Lindy Hop.” Students will perform tableaux of events such as the “Greensboro Four” and “Harriet Tubman”, with students dressed as historical and modern figures reciting monologues to tell of the contributions of those individuals to modern culture. Posters of historical and modern figures created from research done by fourth grade students will be featured around the auditorium.

The community and media are welcome to attend. For more information, please contact Jane Saunders at (910) 251-6175.
