Virgo Preparatory Academy Welcomes New Students

Virgo Preparatory Academy offers many unique educational opportunities for middle school students. Partnerships with the Blue Ribbon Commission and PPD enhance the experience for students and their families through strong community and staff support.

“We have a great school,” said Principal Eric Irizarry. “Virgo Prep has much to offer our students and their families. I am available to talk with parents to share about all the benefits of choosing Virgo Preparatory Academy.”

Virgo is a great school choice for rising sixth graders for reasons such as:

  • The Academy is a small school with smaller classroom sizes, compared to most middle school campuses. This equates to more individual attention to each student as well a close knit community;

  • Virgo Prep offers enrichment opportunities every Friday so students can explore their interests both academic and extracurricular. The school offers 28 enrichment opportunities including: yoga, fencing, pottery, African drumming, hip-hop dance, Karate, gardening, Girls on the Run, First Tee golf and many others;

  • Virgo Prep offers a STEAM (Science, Technology, Arts and Science) integrated curriculum track for students interested in computer programming and automation. Students will be able to chose this two-part yearlong track which includes a Lego robotics and automation component;

  • The Academy has strong community partnerships through the Blue Ribbon Commission which includes student and family advocacy, after school and summer programming support;

  • Virgo Prep offers AIG courses with and Academically Integrated Curriculum focusing on critical think and higher level thinking skills;

  • The school has a 1 to 1 iPad ratio to support learning.
