Personal Data:
Nick Rhodes, Jr. grew up in
the Riegelwood section of Bladen County, North Carolina and
graduated from East Arcadia High School. He received his BS
degree in Economics from North Carolina A&T State University
and a commission as a Second Lieutenant in the United States
Air Force. He received an MA degree in Education from
Pepperdine University and an MBA in Business from Western
New England College. He served for twenty one years in the
Air Force and retired as a Lieutenant Colonel.
After his
career in the Air Force he worked as a management consultant
in business process improvement for consulting firms in the
Washington, DC area before retiring from
PricewaterhouseCoopers and moving to Wilmington. He is a
member of the Cameron Executive Network in the Cameron
School of Business at UNC-Wilmington. He also serves on the
Board of Directors of Smart Start, New Hanover County, the
African-American Heritage Foundation of Wilmington, the Cape
Fear Area Resource Center, and WHQR public radio station.
He is
married to Deloris Rhodes, retired Assistant Superintendent
for Human Resources for Pender County Schools, and they have
two Children: Trina (Charlotte, NC) and Nick III
(Alexandria, VA) and three grandsons: Mile, Max, and Monty. |
