Fourth graders completed a bioengineering project after being asked to have an imaginary pet frog as their test subject. They needed to find ways to ensure that the frog got enough water by designing a model membrane that slowly dripped water into the frog's habitat. ![]() |

Second grade students are "Egg-cited about the Embryology activities they are doing as part of their Life Cycles unit. They are studying embryology through the hatching of chicken eggs. ![]() Fourth grade students explored the contents of owl pellets, learning how to identify bones from birds, moles, rodents, and shrews. Students used their STEM notebooks to make predictions, record observations, and reflect upon their experience. |
![]() Third grade students had to design waterproof covers for a cast to make it easier for people with broken bones to take baths or enjoy a pool. To simulate a cast, students tested paper mache wrapped around a popsicle stick to represent the bone. They had to choose which materials would be the best for keeping the water out. The cast covers were tested by holding them under water for at least 10 seconds. |
