Principally Speaking…

Our Family Math Night on Tuesday, October 14th was a huge success.  Thanks go to our staff for creative problem solving activities for students and families.  Thanks also to our families who enjoyed a pizza supper and provided enthusiastic responses to our math activities.  We look forward to December 16th for our Family Reading Night entitled “Snuggle Up with a Good Book and Music”.  Please plan to attend for hot chocolate and cookies and literary fun.

Staff workdays on the half-day, October 31st and whole days on November 3rd and 4th will provide the opportunity for engineering training and parent conferencing.  Teachers will confer with parents to provide information on each child’s academic progress so far this school year.  These discussions are important for every child’s school success.  If you have not already been contacted by your child’s teacher, please call the teacher to schedule a conference at your convenience.

Also beginning November 10th, we look forward to our Legos Mindstorm Challenge where fifth grade students work in teams with assistance from GE volunteers to assemble robots that can successfully maneuver an obstacle course.  Our final competition is scheduled for Friday, November 21st.  Please join us for thrills and excitement from our students!
