Title II
Title II, Part A is a federal program that
provides funds to school districts including charter schools and
state operated programs. The primary goals are to promote
teacher, principal and paraprofessional quality through
strategies such as high quality staff development in core
subject areas and development of mechanisms and initiatives
(i.e. Beginning Teacher Support Program) to promote the
retention and hiring of highly qualified teachers, including
reducing class size for the purpose of student achievement.
Staff development funded through this grant
should be aligned to the goals of our district Title II Plan and
be intense, sustained and research based.
Additionally, the staff development should be as cost
effective as possible in order to provide opportunities to as
many stakeholders as is beneficial to our system.
