The cadet must have a 90 average or above in AFJROTC class(es) and an
overall 2.5 or higher GPA. The semester and previous nine weeks grades
are averaged together.
The cadet must reflect a positive attitude towards AFJROTC.
The cadet must have exemplary habits, grades and standards and attend
required KHAS meetings.
The cadet can retain membership without attending meetings ONLY if participation
in all other KHAS activities does not stop.
Superintendent of Schools, High School Principal and AFJROTC instructors
are automatically honorary members. All others will be elected by
recommendations from all members.
The State President of AFA and the AFJROTC Area Manager may also be
considered for honorary membership.
Any member who is failing to maintain a 80 or above average in ROTC
and a 2.5 or above GPA, attend meetings without a reasonable excuses and/or
participate in set activities will be put on probation.
Any member who is expelled, suspended, or found guilty of participating
in activities which would harm the integrity of KHAS will be placed on
probation or removed from membership according to the severity of the case.
Any cadet placed on probation due to grades may be reinstated at the
beginning of the next semester after providing proof of attaining the appropriate
standards for grades.
If, at the end of the next semester, the member's grades have not improved,
the member will be removed from membership in the KHAS.
Cadets removed from membership may reapply with the new pledges if they
meet all other criteria.
The Commander and SASI will review cadet grades and provide a list of
those qualified for an invitation to join the KHAS to the membership committee.
After evaluation, the membership committee will provide a list of those
recommended for invitations to the SASI for final approval.
Cadets desiring to become members of KHAS will go through a pledge status
lasting no more than 30 days. In that time, they will be evaluated
and expected to complete the pledge program composed of reasonable tasks
set by the membership committee.
Failure to complete the pledge program will be cause to remove the cadet
from consideration for membership in KHAS for at least one year.
- Cadets in the probationary status will not be permitted to wear the
KHAS insignia nor hold an office in the KHAS. A cadet removed from
office may not be placed back in office; another cadet will be assigned
to the position vacated by the cadet on probationary status.
- The SASI will request letters of intent for Commander of the KHAS and
appoint a commander. Annual elections will be held to decide other
officers for the school year. Normally the commander will be a junior
and the other officers/NCOs will be juniors or sophomores.
- If the membership is more than eleven (11) cadets the KHAS will be considered
a flight and the following cadet ranks are authorized.
