E. A. Laney High School Academic Boosters
Guidelines

The purpose of this organization is to promote academic growth for all students through program support and recognition of notable student, teacher, and staff achievements.  Key projects and areas of support are determined by the members.

This group is organized exclusively for educational purposes within the meaning of Section 501c (3) of the IRS code or corresponding section of any future Federal tax code.

This organization is not part of any national organization, but is associated with the local Tri-County group.

Membership

Membership fees are established by the Board and printed annually in the brochure.  Members are allowed participation in planning and conducting recognition activities.  Attendance at regular meetings is also encouraged.  Parents, educators, students, and other friends of education who support our objectives are encouraged to join.

Officers

A Nominating Committee shall be appointed by the President.  The slate of officers shall be presented at the regular meeting prior to the May meeting.  Officers are elected at the May meeting.  The Board shall consist of Officers, Administration, Staff and Teachers as well as Chairmen of Committees.

Duties

The President shall preside over al meetings and shall coordinate the work of the officers and committees.

The Vice-president shall act as an aide to the President and perform the duties of the president in their absence or inability to serve.

The Secretary shall record the minutes of all meetings and timely distribute them to the Board.

The Treasurer shall collect all membership fees and donations.  The Treasurer shall have custody of the funds and shall keep full and accurate account of receipts and expenditures.

The fiscal year shall run from July 1st to June 30th.

Membership Meetings

Regular meetings shall be held at least five times a year.  Meetings are to be held on the 2nd Tuesday of the established months.  Time and location will be announced.  The annual meeting is held in the month of May.
