Academic Boosters

The mission statement of the E. A. Laney High School Academic Boosters Club is to promote academic growth for all students through program support and recognition of notable student, teacher, and staff achievements.  Working together to promote academic excellence will benefit the entire community.   It is a commitment to making Laney High School a center for academic success.  Your participation in planning and conducting recognition activities is appreciated and welcomed.   Even if you area unable to attend monthly meeting, your financial support provides crucial funds for continued recognition of our students' achievement of excellence.

Do you have SAT scores that total 1600 or above??  Do you want to be recognized at the Academic Awards program, get a free shirt, and be named on a permanent plaque at Laney??  If so, please fill out this form and submit it to Mrs. Williams in guidance with a copy of your scores.  SAT Score Recognition Request Form

Academic Boosters Guidelines


FAQ's

1. What does Academic Boosters do?Academic Boosters promotes academic growth for all students through program support and recognition of notable student and teacher achievements.  

2. Does my child have to be on the honor roll in order for me to be part of Academic Boosters?Absolutely not. Any parent can be a member of Academic Boosters as long as you believe in promoting academic growth for the students at Laney.

3. Do I need to attend monthly meetings?Your participation is appreciated and welcomed but not necessary. We usually have six meetings per year (2nd Tuesday of the month). You may come to one or all of the meetings.

4. What recognition activities does Academic Boosters participate in?Academic Boosters organizes "Extra Effort" Awards, Academic Awards Night, Senior Breakfast, Advanced Placement event, End of Year Academic Awards, Scholarship Recipient Reception and the Honor Roll discount cards. 5. What is the simplest way to support Academic Boosters?You can join the Academic Boosters; we need your help.  Funds provided from membership fees and donations will used for all Laney students.  Membership fees are for one school year.
