Scholarship Bulletin
April 2008

  1. The New Hanover County School Nutrition Association awards two $750 scholarships to students whose parents or grandparents are members of the New Hanover County School Nutrition Association.  See Mrs. Williams for an application that must be returned by April 25.
  2. Two former Laney students have established a scholarship for graduating female who has participated in athletics, plans to attend any college, and has a GPA of 3.0 or higher.  Seniors wishing to apply for the “Young Women with Goals Scholarship” should pick up an application from Mrs. Williams in the guidance office.  Due date is May 16.
  3. Seniors who plan to attend UNCW are invited to apply for the Kiwanis scholarship.  Winners will receive $1800 per year for four years.  Criteria include school and community involvement and financial need.  Applications are due back to Mrs. Williams by April 21st.
  4. The Olsen Award is valued at $1000 and can be used at the winner’s choice of schools.  To apply, you must have had some involvement in the Soccer Academy of Wilmington.  Recipients will be chosen based on excellence in the classroom and on the soccer field.  Applications must be postmarked by April 15 and can be obtained from Mrs. Williams or any soccer coach.
  5. Students whose parents or grandparents attended Williston High School in Wilmington are invited to apply for the Williston Alumni Scholarship.  The award is valued at $1000 and can be used at any school.  Applications are in the guidance office and are due back before April 15.
