The Sports Marketing 2 class at Laney has been planning and preparing the Slam jam for 2012, while incorporating Service Learning into the process. Service Learning is the learning of the SEM II curriculum then applying it to a need in the community. To gather more information about Breast Cancer we have reached out to teachers across the curriculum to gather and research information about Breast cancer and the effects both mentally & physically.  We have come up with many different ways to raise money and promote our event. We will be doing a Donation Box/Jar in all 2^nd block classes from April 16^th through the 20^th. Then the week of the Slam Jam we will have a Hat Day the day before, and when a student or member of the staff pays for the privilege, they will receive a breast cancer ribbon. On the Day of the event, there will be a PINK OUT, where everybody will wear PINK. Also,there will be a Corn Hole Ticket Toss, where people who win will receive tickets to the Slam Jam and there will be a Bungee-Run out in the front field. During half-time, we will be recognizing the Seniors whom have signed with colleges& Universities. Concessions and apparel will be available.
