Mission Statement
The mission of New Hanover County Schools is to
provide a high quality education that prepares all students to be productive and
contributing citizens of a global society.
Vision
New Hanover County will have a school system
where all students receive a quality education that provides them with
opportunities to contribute to a global society. Our schools will produce
responsible, productive students capable of adapting to a changing, diverse
world. Innovative, technologically competent students will graduate from
our schools possessing the skills necessary for success.
New Hanover County will have a school system
with nationally recognized professional educators who continuously improve their
educational skills and practices to meet the needs of all learners. The Board of
Education and community believe that all children are our most valuable resource
and, therefore, will provide a safe, nurturing, and inspirational environment
that respects cultural diversity.
New Hanover County will have a community of
well-informed, highly skilled citizens that demand excellence from their school
system and commit the resources necessary to support it. Through strong
partnerships and a shared vision our schools, parents, and community work
together to achieve quality educational results for all.
