Welcome Back Letter to Students and Parents!  We are looking forward to an amazing 2017-2018 School Year!

Project Lead The Way

  • 6th Grade Parents, we are excited to offer a new elective course option to our rising group of 6th grade students....

    Students are challenged to think big and toward the future as they explore sustainable solutions to our energy needs and investigate the impact of energy on our lives and the world. They design and model alternative energy sources and evaluate options for reducing energy consumption.

    For more information on PLTW and what this curriculum has to offer your child, you can visit PLTW.org.

    If you are interested in signing your child up for this elective, please click on this link to access the PLTW Application. Please apply no later than August 18, as space in this course will be limited.

August 22 Open House,

  • 6th Grade Students and New Students to Murray will have the opportunity to meet the principal from 5:00 PM-5:30 PM in the Murray Gymnasium. Individual student schedules will be available to 6th grade in the Cafeteria and to new (7th and 8th grade) students in designated areas at 5:30 PM. 6th Grade/New Students will be able to meet their teachers from 5:30 PM to 6:30 PM.
  • 7th and 8th Grade Students will have the opportunity to meet the principal from 5:30 PM-6:00 PM in the Murray Gymnasium. Individual student schedules will be available to 8th grade students in the Cafeteria and 7th grade students in the Media Center at 6:00 PM. Students will be able to meet their new teachers from 6:00 PM to 7:00 PM.

August 28 - First Day of School for all Murray Middle School students,

  • Remember, we will start school at 8:25 AM and release at 3:30 PM. Breakfast will be served until 8:15 AM and students will report to their Homeroom classes by 8:25 AM.

August 28 - Athletic Tryouts

  • Softball and Football Tryouts, immediately after school.
  • Student-athletes MUST have a current physical and concussion forms on file at Murray to participate in a tryout. These forms can be downloaded from the school website: http://www.nhcs.net/murray/Athletics.html Forms may be turned into the front office during Open House to the attention of Coach Hager.

September 12 - First Softball Game of the year at Roland Grise Middle School!

September 16 - New Hanover County Middle School Football Jamboree, at Legion Stadium

  • The Falcons will take on Roland Grise at 1:00 PM! Go Falcons!
