Isaac Bear Early College High
School PTSA Sponsors Gala Fundraiser
On Friday, November 21, 2008, the
Isaac Bear Early College Parent Teacher Student Association (PTSA)
will sponsor a Gala Fundraiser at the Watson School of Education
Atrium, on the UNC-Wilmington campus, 601 South College Road,
Wilmington, NC, from 5:30 p.m. - 7:30 p.m. The gala event will
include a theatre venue, live auction and guests will enjoy a
reception. Many elected officials, community leaders and
educators are expected to attend.
Guests will view the video clip of Dalton Sherman, a fifth
grader from the Charles Rice Learning Center, in Dallas, Texas.
Dalton’s engaging dialogue challenges viewers to believe in
students.
George Pocheptsov, an Isaac Bear Early College High School
junior, has generously donated two of his original paintings for
the live auction, which may be viewed at IBEC’s web site,
http://www.nhcs.net/isaacbear/
George is a gifted artist who gives significantly to charity,
and has been commissioned to do paintings for Colin Powell,
Celine Dion, Michael Jordan and Alan Ducasse. He has also
custom-made 3D paintings for the Camera Museum in London,
England, and the United Nations 60th Anniversary Celebration. In
addition, he has been featured on television programs all around
the world; one recent Emmy winner was a “Brush with Destiny.” To
view George’s art collections, visit http://www.georgepocheptsov.com.
Other items included in the live auction will be signed sports
memorabilia, resort and spa packages, gift baskets and more.
