NHCS To Hold Public Forums for
Redistricting Plans
New Hanover County Schools will
hold three public forums for the elementary redistricting plans.
These forums are held by the New Hanover County Board of
Education to allow time for public comment on the proposed
plans. All forums will begin at 6:30 p.m. and will be held in
the Multi-Purpose Room of the following schools on these dates:
Tuesday, September 23, 2008, Codington Elementary School, 4321
Carolina Beach Road, Wilmington, NC
Monday, October 6, 2008, Eaton Elementary School, 6701 Gordon
Road, Wilmington, NC
Tuesday, October 21, 2008, Freeman Elementary School of
Engineering, 2601 Princess Place Drive, Wilmington, NC
Parents and other interested people will be given the
opportunity to speak to the Board at each of the forums. All
speakers who sign up will be given three minutes to address the
Board to allow ample opportunity for everyone to speak.
Assistant Superintendent Bill Hance will provide a brief
overview of the redistricting proposals at the beginning of each
public forum. All three option maps - Option 4, Option 5 and
Option 6 - will be on display for public viewing at each forum.

Parents may choose to attend any of the public forums. The
forums are all open to the public. For more information about
