Gregory School of Science, Mathematics, and Technology Recognized for Best Management Practices

WHAT: Gregory School of Science, Mathemathics and Technology will be recognized for its Best Management Practices (BMP) with participation in the Burnt Mill Creek watershed restoration effort. BMPs include raingardens, rainbarrels and use of wetlands that help clean and protect our creeks.

The recognition is sponsored by NC State University’s Watershed Education for Communities and Local Officials Program. The City of Wilmington, Mayor Bill Saffo, and the Burnt Mill Creek project will officially recognize the school’s participation in the Burnt Mill Creek watershed restoration effort by awarding the school a Certificate of Appreciation at the ceremony. Refreshments will be served following the ribbon-cutting ceremony. An optional tour of several Burnt Mill Creek BMPs recently installed will follow at approximately 2 PM.
