Hoggard High School Students
Receive Top Honors at
Family Career and Community Leadership Association's
Culinary Competition
Recently, three Hoggard High
School students, Doug Tronzo, Dorian Goode, and Nanette Creech,
participated in the 2008 Family Career and Community Leader
Association's (FCCLA) Culinary Competition in Charlotte, NC.
Winners from the competition were announced on April 23, 2008,
at the North Carolina Family Career and Community Leader
Conference held in Greensboro, NC.
The Hoggard students received the following awards and honors:
Nanette Creech - One of the top nine winners receiving a gold
medal and a $750 renewable scholarship to Johnson and Wales
University.
Doug Tronzo and Dorian Goode - Each student was a top six gold
medal winner. They both received a $1000 renewable scholarship
to Johnson and Wales University.
Dorian Goode was also selected to be one of the North Carolina
representatives at the National FCCLA Competition, which will be
held in Orlando, Florida in July 2008.
The students are taught by Mary Ellen Seay, Family Consumer
Science teacher at Hoggard High School.
