New Hanover County Schools Hold
Elementary Literacy Academy
New Hanover County Schools will
hold a five-day Elementary Literacy Academy on June 20, 23, 24,
25 and 27, 2008, at the Dale K. Spencer Building, 1802 S. 15th
Street, Wilmington, NC, from 8:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m.
The purpose of this academy is to revise NHCS Elementary
Literacy Assessments, create support documents for NHCS teachers
and support NHCS teachers in managing small group instruction.
Each elementary school is sending a reading coach and one
additional staff member as participants and will be trained by
national consultants:
Pam Pierce from Debbie Diller & Associates
Kathy Bumgardner from Strategies, Unlimited
Nancy Hoeft and Renie West from Wireless Generation.
