New Hanover County Schools’ More at Four Program
Hosts Kindergarten Transition Night

On Monday, May 12, 2008, New Hanover County Schools Pre-K centers will host Kindergarten Transition Night. The times and locations are as follows:

Mary Washington Howe Pre-K Center, 1020 Meares Street, Wilmington, NC - 6:00 p.m. - 7:30 p.m.

NHCS Pre-K Center, 4905 South College Road, Wilmington, NC - 5:30 p.m. - 6:30 p.m. & 6:30 p.m. - 7:30 p.m.

J.C. Roe Pre-K Center, 2875 Worth Drive, Wilmington, NC - Begins at 6:00 p.m.

Families will be served dinner and spend time playing games together. The games will focus on strengthening the skills that children will need upon entering kindergarten. Each family will be given a complete packet of games and activities, as well as a book entitled, Look Out Kindergarten, Here I Come!, as resources to help prepare their child for kindergarten.

Translators will be available for Latino families, and kindergarten teachers will be available to answer any questions that parents may have.
