New Hanover County Schools
Implements
Mary S. Mosley Performance Learning Center High School
Beginning in the 2008-2009 school year, New Hanover County
Schools will open the Mosley Performance Learning Center High
School. The school is a partnership with Communities In Schools
of North Carolina and receives partial funding from the Bill and
Melinda Gates Foundation.
The school will serve grades 10 through 12 and provide a small
learning environment that focuses on performance based learning,
business mentorships and service learning. The curriculum is
NovaNet based and is designed for students who are at risk of
dropping out of school. It will be located in the former
Lakeside High School building.
Students, parents or counselors must apply to the school and an
interview for the student and parent will be conducted. To
