New Hanover County Schools Invitation to Provide Input on
Federally Funded Applications

New Hanover County Schools (NHCS) is in the process of amending its applications for federal funds under the following:

Elementary & Secondary Education Act (ESEA) Programs
Title I - Disadvantaged Students
Title II (Part A) - Improving Teacher Quality
Title II (Part B) - Technology
Title III - Language Acquisition
Title IV (Part A) - Safe and Drug Free Schools
Title V - Innovative Programs
The Individuals with Disabilities Education Act (IDEA)

These federally funded programs require a process, which affords private schools an opportunity to provide NHCS with information about their needs. The process also includes an opportunity for NHCS to inform private school representatives of the system and services provided by these federal programs.

On Wednesday, April 23, 2008, 9:00 a.m. - 10:30 a.m., at the Administration Building, 6410 Carolina Beach Road, Conference Room 301, a meeting is scheduled for private school representatives to provide input on these applications. A session for home school and private school parents regarding IDEA will begin at 10:00 a.m.

For more information, contact Jacqueline Swartwout at 910-254-4460.
