Roland Grise Middle School
Places in Battle of the Books Competitions
On March 5, 2008, The Roland Grise
Middle School Battle of the Books team competed against five
middle schools in the county and won the competition. The team
read twenty-six books and answered questions about these books.
Members of the team were: Bethany Ao, Kolin Carswell, Kyla
DeHart, Allison Flowers, Nathaniel Hanson, Kristen LaSure, Kammy
Liu, Emily Milkes, Donny Ross, Michelle Saito, William Wagner
and Aiwei Yan. The team’s coach was Gayle Keresey, Media
Corrdinator and Assistant Coach was Louise Miller, AIG
Specialist.
The team went on to the Region 4 Competition, on April 3, 2008,
at St. Andrews Presbyteriam College in Laurinburg, NC, and
placed third in the competition, taking home medals and a
plaque. The team played against eleven middle schools in the
region. Members of the team were Kolin Carswell, Kyla DeHart,
Nathaniel Hanson, Kristen LaSure, Donny Ross, Michelle Saito and
William Wagner. The coach was Gayle Keresey and assistant coach
was Louise Miller.
