Dr. Alfred H. Lerch, Jr. Appointed New Superintendent

On Saturday, August 25, the New Hanover County School Board appointed Dr. Alfred H. Lerch, Jr., Interim Superintendent, the new Superintendent for the next two years.

Dr. Lerch's 24 years with New Hanover County Schools include being Interim Superintendent since July 1, ten years as Assistant Superintendent for Testing/Student Support, three years as Director of Alternative & Student Support Programs, six years as Unit-Wide Drop Out Prevention Specialist, four years as Guidance Department Chairperson, and one year as a guidance counselor. Overall, he has contributed 30 years to education.
