NHCS Responds to Confirmation of H1N1 Influenza Virus
at Roland-Grise Middle School and New Hanover High School (Español)

New Hanover County Schools has been informed today by the New Hanover County Health Department that the two suspected cases of the H1N1 Influenza Virus have been confirmed in one student at Roland-Grise Middle School and one student at New Hanover High School.

Parents at both schools have been informed about this situation through the ALERT NOW message system. Formerly, the district had informed parents of these suspected cases before receiving this official confirmation today.

NHCS custodians are currently cleaning and disinfecting the schools. Buses will also be disinfected. Schools will be open as usual tomorrow.

The schools' membership and today's attendance follow. New Hanover High School is on exam schedule; therefore, they are not reporting traditional attendance. Attendance will be available at a later time.
