Schools Superintendent
Attends Governor Perdue's First Education Rally
Superintendent Alfred H. Lerch traveled
to Raleigh today to attend Governor Perdue's first education
rally on the Old Capital Building steps in Raleigh, NC. He
joined representatives from the North Carolina Association of
Educators, local PTAs, teachers and others to show support for
education before the House and Senate votes to cut education by
millions of dollars.
Governor Perdue plans to host a series
of rallies across the state to stimulate public support for
education and her education priorities. Other rallies will
take place in Greensboro, Charlotte, Asheville and Greenville.
The approved budget may pass as soon as
July 1, 2009.
