• Treasurer's Report: Balance $16,931. 
• Officer's Reports:
  • Fund Raising - Parsley Pride is our main fund raiser.   So far, we have collected $7335; our goal is $7500. 
    Fall Festival netted approximately $11,000.  We paid $4952 for the student program 'Words Their Way' and $700 for Junior Achievement.  Chick-fil-A night is Thurs., Dec. 10.
  • Membership - We have 380 members as of Nov. 9. Our goal for the 2009-2010 school year is 400 members.  Thank you for joining;  your membership shows your support of our school.
  • PTA County Council Representative - No report this month.
• Committee Report
• Walking Club - Walking Club is going well.  Students have lots of energy!
• Book Fair - The first book fair will be Nov. 30 to Dec. 4.  Family night is Nov. 30 from 6-8pm.
• Volunteer Coordinator - No report this month.
• Hospitality - The Hospitality Committee will provide a treat for the staff on Dec. 16.
• Yearbook - "We Are Wild About Learning" is the jungle theme for the yearbook. The yearbook will cost $15 again this year.  If you are taking pictures of school events, please email some to the yearbook committee.
• Student Directory - Student Directory is almost done.  One copy per family will be sent home when it is ready.
• Patriot Post - Please email your articles to Suzanne Hamilton: shamilton9@ec.rr.com.  Email consent forms were sent home asking parents to sign up for a digital copy of the newsletter (and other PTA notices).  
• Fifth Grade Recognition - no report this month.
• Teacher Appreciation - needs a committee.
• Battle of the Books - 93 students have signed up to participate in Battle of the Books.  We will schedule Morning Marvels throughout the school year.  Resources distributed during Morning Marvels will be added to the Battle of the Books webpage.
• Grounds Beautification - No report this month.  
• Apparel & Accessories -  We sold over $300 in apparel during Fall Festival.
• Boxtops & Tyson A+ - We had our highest submission we've ever had for boxtops - $854
• Reflections - Entries are due Monday, Nov. 16.  Reflections Gallery will be Monday, Nov. 30 from 6-8 pm, in conjunction with the Book Fair Family Night.
• Cultural Events - Bright Star Touring Company will be here Nov. 23 with a program each for K-2 and 3-5.
• Principal's Report - Mrs. Hamilton reported that the New Hanover County Heath Department has the seasonal flu vaccine available for students at no charge. The New Hanover County Health Department is encouraging all school aged students to get the Seasonal Influenza vaccine. Hours Nov. 9 to 13 are extended Monday, Tuesday and Thursday until 7:00 p.m. Wednesday, Nov. 11th (School Holiday) from 8:00 a.m. until 5:00 p.m. Call 798-6646 for an appointment. This information is on her website.
• Teacher Representative's Report - No report this month.
• Old Business
• Capri Sun recycling - items must be rinsed out and cut in half and must be sent in small bundles, not all at once.  No decision was made about this at this time.
• New Business
  • Dining With Dads was very successful last year.  Approximately 50% of the dads came to eat either lunch or dinner with their child(ren).  We will probably schedule this event some time in January to be held on two days.
  • Since we made more than budgeted for Fall Festival, we voted to increase the line item for free ice cream for the students.
