Parsley's mascots are the Patriot
Kids: Liberty, Justice and Freedom. They were created during the
2003 school year. A school-wide contest was held to name the Patriot
Kids and Jake Wade, then a first grader, submitted the winning
entry.
Liberty, Justice, and Freedom appear on many of our school
items including t-shirts, the Parsley folder, and car magnets.
They have appeared on the cover of our yearbooks, school directory,
and cookbook.
To help our students learn more about surfing our website and
about sending an email, each month a Patriot Kid 'hides' on our
website. Students are challenged to find the hidden patriot and
then email the URL of the page he/she was hiding on in an email
to Parsley. One student winner is drawn from correct entries received
each month. Read more about this contest and the rules on our "Where's
the Patriot?" Contest page.
Beginning with the 2006 school year, the Patriot Kids began traveling
with Parsley students. They take
vacations with our students visiting
sites in our city, our state, other states, and even other
countries. They may even spend time with parents, family members and friends and then share with us what they learned. Stories and photos are emailed to us and then are posted on our Patriot Kids blog. Visit the Vacationing
with the Patriot Kids page to learn more.
