Below are samples of work from K-5 students at Parsley Elementary.

Earth DayApril 2008:  4th grade students in Mrs. Youman's AIG program learned about recycling and conservation and created several Earth Day projects. See the Earth Day webpage to learn more.

May 2007 - Students in Mrs. Jone's 1st grade used Kid Pix to write advice to rising 1st grade students.  Here are the recommendations from two of her students.

"Make sure you read your book every night.  You might have a class pet so take care of him.  And alaways listen to the teachrs.  Make sure you no know to cont and never ever say I can't.  And don't forget anything."

Make sure you follow these rules:

  1. Be silent when it is silent reading time.
  2. Have 5 books in your book box.
  3. Remember to keep you hands to yourself.
  4. When your on the computer and you draw a picture, have at least  5 sentences.
  5. Listen if the teacher tells you to do something you should do it cause you would be helping out.
  6. Dont play on the carpet.
  7. Dont copy someone elses paper (even is someone dares you to).
  8. Dont spread a rumor around the school.

Combining technology, art and research skills, 4th grade students showed what they learned about inventors with this unique report.
  Using a ProScope, 4th grade students took a photo of crystals they grew. They the imposed a photo of themselves on the crystal. Create writings later accompanied the photo composite.
