Pre-Kindergarten Program

Applications are now being accepted.  Parents can apply at the Pre-K Centers and the Pre-K Office, 1802 South 15th Street, Room 112.

Parents should bring the documentation listed below with them to registration. 

Application Process

• Age 4 on or before August 31, 2010

• New Hanover County Resident

• Screening to assess pre-academic skills

• Parent Interview

Required Documentation

• Proof of Residency (utility bill, lease or purchase contract)

• Proof of Income (recent W-2 form or recent pay stub)

• Certified Birth Certificate w/seal  (Español)

• Immunization Record

• Child’s Social Security Card   (Español)

• Medicaid Card (If applicable)

• Custody Papers (If applicable)

• Photo Identification of Parent

Families are notified in early to mid June regarding their acceptance into the program. The focus of the Pre-Kindergarten Program is to serve children who have not been enrolled in a quality early childhood program or have a demonstrated academic or social need for the program.
