State Superintendent Dr. June Atkinson Plans Visit to Bellamy
Elementary
to Learn About Summer Reading Program
WHAT:
North Carolina State Superintendent Dr. June Atkinson
will visit Bellamy Elementary to learn more about the school’s
Summer Reading Program. During her visit, Dr. Atkinson will
present a one-year subscription of Scholastic's Reading Counts
to Bellamy Elementary.
Throughout the summer break, Bellamy’s library is open every Wednesday from 12 noon to 6:00 p.m. as part of the district’s Title I Summer Library Program. Coordinated by Bellamy Media Specialist Karen Sherman, students are encouraged to visit the library to check out books and to take part in the various summer reading activities such as: book clubs, brain games, mystery in the library, and other fun, interactive programs that promote summer reading.
