With this promotion, Dr. Holliday becomes the district's first deputy superintendent since 2003.

Dr. Holliday is known throughout NHCS for his strong work ethic and for his knowledge of the district and school law. Many principals have said because of his many years of experience as a principal, Dr. Holliday is an invaluable asset to the district.

"I look forward to working with everyone in this new role. My focus remains to keep the district moving forward with high expectations for all," Dr. Holliday said.

Dr. Holliday is well prepared for his new position and has climbed the ranks in the district. He began working for NHCS in 1982 as a teacher and coach at Laney High School. In the fall of 2005, Laney's football stadium was named in honor of Dr. Holliday. After his stint at Laney, he was named executive director of Instructional Services in 2004. He served in Instructional Services until 2007, when he was promoted to his most recent role as the assistant superintendent of Student Support Services.
