Winter Park Elementary Launches After School “Think Lab”

“Think left and think right and think low and think high. Oh, the thinks you can think up if only you try!” - Dr. Seuss

Winter Park Elementary School has launched an after school “Think Lab” for the 2014-2015 school year. The program is held on Tuesday afternoons in the school’s cafeteria. Currently, third through fifth grade students participate in this newest after school club, learning how to play a variety of games that enhance their critical thinking skills. The first round of “Think Lab” will conclude on November 25, 2014, and a kindergarten through second grade “Think Lab” will begin in the spring of 2015.

“After hosting a successful Chess Club last year, I decided to add another layer to the after school program,” shared Tara Mulvey, Academically or Intellectually Gifted (AIG) Coordinator for Winter Park. “As part of the new program, we teach our students how to begin with the end in mind, how to think critically and how to anticipate and plan. The students challenge one another while encouraging each other.”

For more information about the “Think Lab” at Winter Park, contact Tara Mulvey at (910) 350-2159.
