Second Step: A Violence Prevention Curriculum® is a universal program that proactively teaches critical social and emotional skills to all children.  The curriculum goals are focused on reducing aggressive and disruptive behavior while promoting social-emotional competence.  The ability to transfer learning to real-life situations is a major goal of the Second Step program that must be supported through repeated practice in multiple settings.  All staff (administrators, teachers, support personnel) play a role in reinforcing and modeling desired skills and behaviors to achieve this end.
