Intensive Behavioral Support System (IBS)

WELCOME

Some students who are unable to successfully function in the  general education classroom for even a part of the school day may require IBS support.  The IBS service setting provides individualized academic instruction as well as a comprehensive and individualized behavioral program. The focus of the IBS classroom is the teaching and modification of behaviors, which are necessary for success in the general education setting.  The need for services in the IBS setting is determined by the student's Individualized Educational Program (IEP) team.

How can I contact someone about these services in New Hanover County?

You can contact the Special Education and Related Services Programs at (910)254-4445 or your child's school.
