The New Hanover County Board of Education announced the evaluation of Superintendent Dr. Tim Markley at its June 4, 2019, regular meeting. In a written statement read by Board Chair Lisa Estep, the Board announced:
“We are pleased with the progress our school system is making towards providing a quality education in a variety of settings in order to meet the diverse and varied needs of our students. The Board appreciates the Superintendent’s leadership and guidance, especially through Hurricane Florence and its aftermath. We look forward to developing a comprehensive plan that follows the Board's guiding principles for Redistricting for 2020-21, as well as beginning our work towards a countywide bond proposal for next year.
