New Hanover County Schools Presents a New Podcast Series NHCS: Voices of the District


NHCS: Voices of the District

The New Hanover County Schools Public Relations Division has released its first podcast. The podcast series titled, NHCS Podcast: Voices of the District will present a new podcast each month featuring district teachers, administrators, and staff. The podcast offers another communication vehicle for NHCS to stay connected and to communicate with the community. 
“With so many different methods of reaching the public, it is important as a district that we utilize all means. Communication is key to having an efficient and productive school system, and we want to make sure we are communicating with the community on all platforms,” stated Chief Communications Officer Valita Quattlebaum,  APR. The Podcast Committee - comprised of Mrs. Quattlebaum, Deputy Superintendent Dr. LaChawn Smith, Assistant Superintendent of Technology Dawn Brinson, and Community Relations Coordinator Caress Clegg - plans to release a new podcast each month on Speaker.Com. Below is the list of upcoming podcasts:
  • September 24, 2019 - “Learn, Lead, Listen” with Ryan Redd and Peter Hunt; 
  • October 28, 2019 - “District Equity Workgroup” with Deputy Superintendent Dr. LaChawn Smith, Mr. Al O’Briant, and Ms. Francess Williams, 
  • November 25, 2019- “Trauma in Education” with Principal Krista Holland featuring Principal of the Year Glen Locklear
  • December 16, 2019 - “English as a Second Language Services vs. Family Parent Liaisons” with Maria Black and Martha Banderas
