Engaging Students, Achieving Excellence

NHCS Students Wow at State PTA Reflections Art Competition

Ten New Hanover County Schools (NHCS) students placed in the North Carolina Parent Teacher Association (NCPTA) Reflections Competition. Reflections is a state and national arts recognition program that encourages students to explore their talents and express themselves. This year’s theme was “Heroes Around Me” and students from grades 3rd-8th won in all categories capturing either 1st, 2nd, or 3rd place.

These students will be recognized during the Annual NCPTA Reflections Celebration at the Herbert C. Young Community Center in Cary, NC, on Saturday, April 6, 2019. Further, the New Hanover County Board of Education will recognize the students at the May 7, 2019, Board meeting.

The three NHCS students who are first place winners will move on to compete at the National PTA Reflections Competition. We wish them all the best of luck!
