New Hanover County Board of Education Announces Interim Meeting
The New Hanover County Board of Education will hold an Interim Board Meeting on Tuesday, May 18, 2021, at 5:30 p.m. in the Board of Education Center, located at 1805 South 13th Street.
The purpose of the meeting is to consider the following: administrative recommendations, personnel report, meeting minutes, the 2021-22 North Carolina Title I Application, Memorandum of Understanding with disAbility Resource Center, Budget Amendments, Facility Use Agreement with UNCW MarineQuest and the June and July Regular Board Meeting Dates.
In addition, the Board will review information regarding the district's proposed One-to-One Device plan, the recommended ESSER Budget, Summer Ignite - 2021 Summer School Program, and Suspension Data. The Board will hear a Title IX Committee Report and take action on the draft Title IX Survey. The meeting will feature a Special Recognition ceremony to honor the Superintendent and Board of Education Choice Art Awards recipients, as well as the Azalea Festival Youth Art Contest Awards.
During the meeting, the Board will participate in a Closed Session pursuant to NCGS 143-318.11 (a) (1), (a) (3), and (a) (6), to consider personnel matters and to maintain the confidentiality of personnel records under N.C.G.S. 115C-319 and -321; and to consult with the Board’s attorney to preserve attorney-client privileged information.
The Board may take action related to any item on the agenda.
