Lake Forest Academy Moving to Remote-Only Instruction for 14 Days Due to Identification of COVID-19 Cases

In consultation with the New Hanover County (NHC) Health Department, Lake Forest Academy is being closed to all New Hanover County Schools staff and students for a period of 14 days due to the identification of three COVID-19 positive cases among staff. In addition, 13 staff and 13 students are being quarantined due to close contact. Out of an abundance of caution, all Lake Forest Academy staff and students will transition to remote-only instruction for two weeks, effective immediately.  Lake Forest Academy will reopen for face to face learning on Monday, December 14, 2020.

NHCS continues to be in contact with the NHC Health Department and are continuing to advise consistency in the 3 W's:  wear a mask, wait 6 feet away from others, and wash hands often.  If you are concerned that you may have come into contact with the virus, you should seek the advice of your healthcare provider or the NHC Health Department.  The NHC Health Department website and call center (see below) are available for any questions or concerns you may have.
