NHCS Board of Education Approves Administrative Changes
 
 
The New Hanover County Board of Education approved the following administrator and administrative changes for the 2020-2021 school year at their Regular Board Meeting on November 10, 2020.
 
Colonel John M. Henry has been selected as a Title IX Investigator.  Colonel Henry retired in September 2020 after serving as the Staff Judge Advocate for the II Marine Expeditionary Force at Camp Lejeune, NC. Colonel Henry grew up in Mendham, NJ. He earned his undergraduate degree in 1987 from Franklin & Marshall College in Lancaster, PA and his Juris Doctorate from Western New England College School of Law in Springfield, MA in 1991.  He became a member of the Pennsylvania Bar in November 1991.  He gained his Masters Degree in International Law from the University of San Diego School of Law in 2004.
The Marine Corps commissioned Colonel Henry as a second lieutenant in August 1989.  Colonel Henry served as a judge advocate in various legal jobs such as criminal defense counsel, operational planner, regional legal services provider and counsel to three general officer commands.  He has served around the world to include duty stations in Japan, Kuwait, Washington, DC and Hawaii.  
 
Dewey (Chris) Furr will serve as the Interim Principal at Forest Hills Global Elementary School until the new principal begins.  Mr. Furr retired as the Principal of New Hanover High School in 2011.  He has served in many capacities over the years with New Hanover County Schools, most recently as the Interim Principal at Williston Middle School.
 
Kimberly Foley has been selected to lead Forest Hills Global Elementary School as their new principal. Ms. Foley is currently serving as the Principal of Sandy Grove Elementary School with Hoke County Schools. She has also served as an assistant principal, academic coach and a teacher with Hoke County Schools. Foley received a Bachelor’s Degree in Elementary Education from Methodist University and a Master’s Degree in School Administration from Fayetteville State University. Her administrative contract is effective until June 30, 2023.
