Parsley Elementary School Evacuated Due to Suspicious Natural Gas Odor

School Cleared By NHC Fire Department For Return of Students at 12:40 p.m.
Students attending Walter L. Parsley Elementary School on Friday, November 13 were evacuated to the outside of the school at approximately 12:20 p.m. due to the detection of a suspicious natural gas odor on campus.
New Hanover County Fire Department and NHCS maintenance crews on the scene assessed the situation and cleared the building for the return of students and staff at approximately 12:40 p.m.
The school notified families through the Blackboard Connect 5 emergency notification system that they had evacuated and were cleared to return to the building. No injuries were reported.
