The New Hanover County Board of Education Announces January 18, 2022 Interim Board Meeting

The New Hanover County Board of Education will hold the January Interim Board Meeting on Tuesday, January 18, 2022, beginning at 5:00 PM at the Board of Education Center, located at 1805 South 13th Street. 
During the Special Board Meeting, the following topics and agenda items will be included:

  • Policies 6140, 2330, and 2310 
  • Employee Climate Survey
  • Reports by the Superintendent and Board Chairperson
  • Approval of meeting minutes
  • MOUs regarding National Board Scholarships and Reading Training
  • 2022-23 Calendar Revisions
  • Contract amendments between NHCS and Learning Perspectives
  • Change Order Summary Report
  • Exemptions from Formal Qualification Based Selection for Professional Services
  • 2022-23 Head Start Non-Competing Continuation Grant 
  • Microsoft EES Agreement
  • YTD Contracts and Purchases
  • Sophic Solutions Contract
  • Behavior Leadership Foundations Training Update
  • NHHS Chiller Replacement
  • Change Order for Brogden Hall Gymnasium Floor Replacement
  • Proposed ESSER Transfers 
  • Capital Outlay Budget Amendment #2
  • Budget Update on RiverLights, Pine Valley, and MC Williams Capital Projects

In addition, the Special Meeting will include a Closed Session pursuant to NCGS 143-318.11 (a)(1), (3) and (6) to consider personnel matters and to maintain the confidentiality of personnel records under N.C.G.S. 115C-319 and -321; to prevent the disclosure of student records rendered confidential under the Family Educational Rights and Privacy Act, 20 U.S.C. 1232g; to consult with the board’s attorney to 35 preserve attorney-client privileged information, including in the cases captioned John Does 1-14 v. New Hanover County Board of Education et al., New Hanover County Superior Court Case No. 19-CVS-2745; Jane Does 1-2 v. New Hanover County Board of Education et al., New Hanover County Superior Court Case No. 20-CVS-1395; Jane Doe 3 v. New Hanover County Board of Education et al., New Hanover County Superior Court Case No. 21-CVS-4707;  Oglesby v. New Hanover County Board of Education et al., New Hanover County Superior Court Case No. 21-CVS-4659; and David A. Perry v. New Hanover County Board of Education et. al., New Hanover County Superior Court Case No. 21 CV 003915.

The Board may take any action as related to these agenda items.
