New Hanover County Schools

Equity Training

During the 2019-2020 school year, Dr. Eakins worked with NHCS on various topics.  Primarily the focus was on Implicit Bias. To build upon the knowledge and understanding of our self-awareness of biases that we hold as educators, we will continue with this work, and developing advocacy skills will be the training focus for the 2020-21 school year.
Hidden Messages in Good Intentions: Microaggression sessions I and II will be offered to all staff during the 2020-2021 school year.
There are multiple dates and times that session I and session II will be offered. Click here to see the description, topics covered, intended outcomes, and registration for each of the sessions (I and II). Please register for the session that best fits your schedule.
